The third instalment of action thriller `Dhoom` is in scripting stage and will go on floors soon, revealed actor Uday Chopra, who starred in both `Dhoom` and `Dhoom 2`.
"For all those asking about `Dhoom 3`, it`s still being scripted so cannot tell you much yet...but will let you all know as soon as I can," Uday posted on his Twitter page.
While "Dhoom" starred John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan, in the sequel, John was replaced by Hrithik Roshan.
After years of sticking to formulas, Bollywood is finally waking up to "non-conformist" cinema, with filmmakers exploring not only newer topics but innovative techniques.
The Bollywood of yesteryears is making way for experimental cinema, and the audience`s demand for fresh movie experiences lies at the centre of this change, say filmmakers and producers.
The latest and perhaps the most full-blown example in this long line is Dibakar Banerjee`s much talked about, `Love, Sex aur Dhokha`, India`s first digital film.
Dibakar, whose earlier directorial ventures have enthralled viewers and critics alike, has been known to believe in the maxim that the audience wants to feel connected to what is being shown on screen.
"My earlier films were on the periphery of mainstream Bollywood cinema, I agree, but what with their Box Office success and a National Award coming my way, I daresay the audience is accepting my idea of cinema," he told reporters.
Producer Ekta Kapoor, better known for her TV tear jerkers like `Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi` and `Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki`, took a risk with the film which has voyeurism as the central theme, but her belief in her director was never-faltering.
"It is a film we truly believed in. It was not a formula film. After giving two hits, Dibakar could have easily made a film with big stars but he did not. It is a big risk and speaks highly of his integrity as a filmmaker," Ekta told reporters.
Abhishek Kapoor, director of the highly acclaimed film ’Rock On’ couldn’t agree more.
"I think it is one of the most important films of our times," he said about ’Love, Sex aur Dhokha’.
The reality of the above statement is evident from the critical as well as commercial success of films like ’Kaminey’, ’Dev D’, ’Rock On’ and ’Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye’ which are unlike the regular fare that Bollywood has been serving audience for years.
The likes of Anurag Kashyap, Vishal Bhardwaj and Dibakar state the cosmopolitan Indian audience of today would immediately trash mediocre, predictable melodrama. It is more demanding, and more receptive. Which is why all these movies have enjoyed critical and commercial success.
Dibakar makes his motivations amply clear when he says, "With the kind of responses films termed as parallel or
unconventional, are getting these days, there might soon come a time when this divide would no longer exist. There would only remain the one key distinction, good films and bad films."
Kashyap, who gave a modern twist to the age-old story of Devdas and Paro in ’Dev D’, has expressed the angst of a film-maker who wants to break away from the mould saying that it was upto the audience to make sure that good cinema stays.
"If good films like the kind new Bollywood has been producing don’t work, then the audience must prepare itself to, go back to the cinema we have tried so hard to leave behind," he wrote on his blog.

Suddenly yesterday she got down with fever and severe throat infection; for which Aishwarya took some medication before leaving for the shoot. However, during the course of the shoot, Ash felt that her lips have got swollen.
The actress, who didn’t want to halt the day’s work, without creating a fuss then insisted to continue the shooting by covering her face with a dupatta.
The remaining portions were said to have been shot with Ash keeping her face covered.

Mani Ratnam ’s Raavana, which is an adaptation of the Ramayana and Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti that is based on the Mahabharata, will release between two weeks of each other.
Initially, both the films were expected to hit the theatres in February 2010. But, due to the multiplex owners strike and a complex melee of other things the two epic films have been pushed to May 2010.
Trade circles are excited as the contemporary versions of the most followed Indian mythological tales will be pitted against one another. Raavana is very important for Aishwarya , who is playing Sita. So is Rajneeti for Katrina. An actor from the unit said, "Rajneeti is a very taut confrontation drama which will showcase Katrina in new light."
The two films have had their fair share of controversies. Nana Patekar walked out of Rajneeti three days before the film’s shooting came to an end, whereas, Bipasha Basu had to exit Raavana hours before the shoot.
Floods ravaged the sets of Raavana; and Manoj Bajpai’s accident put a small spoke in Rajneeti’s progress. And yet when it comes to the release, both films are expected to release around the same time.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’ which stars Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai will have portions shot in Portuguese. And hence, Hrithik and Ash have already hired Portuguese language experts who will help them with the accent and dialect for their respective roles.
Why Portuguese? As per sources, the film is set in the Goan period when people used to speak the language. In fact, erected sets of the film shows “Portuguese architecture and style”, reveal sources.
Apparently Bhansali insisted on getting someone who understood the fashion history of Goa under the Portuguese, who rule the state for 450 years and zeroed in on Kolkata-based Sabyasachi Mukherjee who’s currently working on many A- list projects like the Abhishek-Aishwarya Raavan and Amitabh-starrer Paa.
Bhansali has also asked Hrithik to put on weight for this movie -- and he already has gained some kilos. He’ll sport long hair and also a beard like Goan people preferred."
