The rage among Bollywood babes to sizzle in raunchy item numbers continues. After the flattering success of Malaika Arora Khan’s ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’ and Katrina Kaif’s ‘Sheila Ki Jawaani’ it is now time for sex kitten Mallika Sherawat to shake her legs on an item number.

Mallika has already shown her oomph factor in ‘Maiya Maiya’ and will now be seen in a raunchy item song in director Anees Bazmee’s next film Thank You. Like ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’, this song too has a desi folk appeal to it and it titled ‘Razia Gundo Mein Phas Gayi’ (Razia stuck with the goons).

Composed by Pritam, the song will feature Mallika with all the male actors of the film- Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Sunil Shetty. Well, more so, Mallika is doing the number for free as she shares a good rapport with Bazmee which developed when she worked with Bazmee in ‘Welcome’.

Bazmi, who is currently busy shooting the song, confirmed the news saying, “Mallika is a very dear friend and suits perfectly for this song. She is shooting with us for five days, as the song will be shot with all the actors in the film.”

Mallika Sherawat makes others to dance in media.

Bollywood bombshell Mallika Sherawat, who is making her foray into television with dance show “Chak Dhoom Dhoom”, made members of the media dance with her on the launch event of the show here Wednesday.

Mallika, who is one of the judges on the show along with actor-comedian Jaaved Jaaferi and ace contemporary dancer Terence Lewis, made her entry at the event, dancing on her hit track “Maiyyan maiyyan”. She was clad in a short red sleeveless dress.

After that, she urged members of the media to join her on the stage and shake a leg with her. Many journalists obliged and danced with the actress on the song “Main talli ho gayi”.

“The press has always made me dance on their tunes but today (Wednesday) I wanted to do something different and make the press dance instead,” Mallika said.

While Jaaved couldn’t be at the event, Terence joined the “Murder” and “Hisss” actress on the stage.

The show, which will showcase groups from all over the world, will be aired on Colors Jan 14 onwards. They will be judged on the basis of their choreography, timing, synchronization, team effort and appeal.

Mallika Sherawat to play in DHAMAAL 2

Mallika Sherawat is looking eastwards. It’s time for her to focus on some home based projects before she plot her next westward film outing. According to sources, after doing a few Hollywood projects in the past, Mallika has now shifted her focus on bollywood. Her film DHAMAAL 2 is one of big projects this calendar. The film assumes significance since Mallika will be seen in her sharp wit avtaar in the film.

Mallika’s film is courting spotlight for another reason too. Much has been written about Kangna and Mallika’s on-set chemistry. But, according to eye witnesses, the things between the two are not as bad as often reported.

For the moment Hollywood seems to have taken a back seat in Mallika’s career. After finishing with DHAMAAL 2 shoot, there are reports that the actress will sign some more Hindi films before giving Hollywood some more attention. For the moment east seems to hold a lot of promise for Mallika and her film career.

Mallika Sherawat to appear at the inauguration of Rajasthan University.

Rajasthan University has cleared the way for Bollywood siren, Mallika Sherawat to appear at the inauguration of the office of the students union on Monday. However, she was not allowed to dance to the tunes of latest Bollywood songs.

The decision was taken by vice-chancellor, B L Sharma amid pressure from the students on Monday. On Sunday he had told TOI because of fear law and order situation going out of hand this programme will not take place on the campus. The V-C but he was not available for comment.

This decision comes as a disappointment for students who were keen to see the glam girl dance item numbers. In the evening, they again requested the administration to allow the actress to perform, but in vain.
Parveen Kaler, president of union of research scholar said, "We will try to follow the university order, but if case she willingly decides to dance, we should not be held responsible." It is most likely she will display her dancing skills on the stage.

The organisers has left no stone unturned to publicise her appearance in the programme. The banners can be seen on key locations in the city besides pamphlets and SMSes are making the rounds among students. It is learnt that students have paid a hefty sum to the actress for her appearance.

"She’ll be given a guard of honour in traditional style at the airport. She will be staying in a five- star hotel," said Kaler. All this has raised some serious questions as to how students will bear the financial burden of the programme. According to the sources, the organisers are spending around Rs 30 lakh for the event. They have made sitting arrangements for 5,000 students.

Mallika Sherawat’s Hisss not in USA

After making us wait for almost a year, and with much anticipation, Mallika Sherawat starrer Hisss is finally releasing on 22 October. But surprisingly this release date is only for India and not for US. Hisss will release in the US next year and the reason for it is that the movie needs to be promoted well in the west.

Isn’t it shocking, as Mallika spent almost a year in LA and one of the prime reasons for her stay was also the Hisss promotion? The movie was expected to release worldwide on October 22, but the co-producer of the film Govind Menon tells a tabloid that the English version will release in January 2011.

“We are not releasing it across USA now as we are building up the film a bit… Many Hollywood films don’t release on the same day across the world. There is some serious promotional work left for us to do,” Menon is quoted as saying.

Directed by Jennifer Lynch, Hisss is releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu this week, while the Malayalam one will come next week. In fact, its international version with subtitles will also release in Malaysia, Australia, UK, Fiji, New Zealand and South Africa the same week. According to Menon this is phase I for Hisss and phase 2 will see its grand release in Hollywood.

As for now Mallika is measuring the length and breadth of the country to promote Hisss.

Mallika Sherawat threatens to give ’snakebite’!

Mallika Sherawat seems to be taking her role of a snake woman in her forthcoming film “Hisss” too seriously. She went and threatened to give a snake bite to the judges of Zee TV’s “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar”!

Imagine the plight of the judges – Sajid-Wajid, Vishal-Shekhar and Daler Mehndi, when the sensational actress warned them that if they pass any negative comments, she will give them a snake bite, said a source from the sets.

The judges tried to adhere to her instructions and even had fun dancing with her on her popular song “Maiyya maiyya”.

The “Hisss” special episode will be on air Saturday.

Actress Mallika Sherwat, who was missing from the Bollywood scenario for a long time, is now back to India and she has opened her bold mouth again. Recently, the actress came back to Mumbai from Los Angeles for her next Bollywood project ‘Double Dhamaal’.
Mallika sounded very upset with Bollywood star Priyanka. The ‘Hiss’ girl has reportedly said that Priyanka has copied her act in the Color’s reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 3’. An enraged Mallika uttered her disappointment in a very witty manner. She took up the micro blogging site twitter to divulge her ire. She said that Priyanka has deliberately copied her stance.
Priyanka Chopra was seen wrapping a huge python around her neck for the reality show. Mallika has walked the red carpet in this year’s Cannes festival with a black and yellow python wrapped around the neck. Sherawat performed this act to promote her upcoming Hollywood project ‘Hiss’, where she plays a snake woman.

The controversy queen of Bollywood, Mallika can probably go to any extent to bring her movie in the limelight. She tweeted that it is just an example of what is in store on future episodes of ‘KKK3’. Mallika Sherawat has become playsinger in Bollywood

Actress Mallika Sherawat makes her debut as a playback singer with her upcoming film ’Hisss’ and she is teamed up with John Lennon’s son Julian to record one of the songs.

The actress recorded a song in a studio in Los Angeles recently, which will be released as part of the ’Hisss’ soundtrack and promotions.

’Mallika has recorded her voice singing two different songs. The first of the songs is composed and arranged by Julian Lennon, son of John Lennon from the iconic rock band The Beatles. Upon mixing of the track, the song will be sent to Mr. Lennon for approval,’ a source said in a statement.

’The second track Mallika recorded is arranged by German composer Alexander Von Bubenheim who provided the background score for ’Hisss’. Both songs have Mallika singing in a breathy, sexy style reminiscent of famed French actress Brigitte Bardot’s legendary collaborations with musician Serge Gainsbourg,’ added the source.

’Hisss’ soundtrack comprises of five songs and three dance remixes and is expected to release in India in mid-September.

Slated for an October release, ’Hisss’ is about a snake woman whose mate is captured by an American hunter and then she decides to take revenge.

Directed by Jennifer Chambers Lynch, it also stars Irrfan Khan, Jeff Doucette and Divya Dutta.

Mallika Sherawat weared salwar kameez for a change in New Jersey

A sweating Mallika Sherawat, dressed in off-white salwar kameez for a change, had a trying time as she had to waive her hand constantly under scorching heat and shouted ‘hail to India’ as she made her attendance on India Day Parade in New Jersey that marked India’s 64th Independence Day. This is an annual event held by the Indian Business Association in association with scores of other Indian American Organizations to celebrate India’s Independence.
With thousands of people to the one mile parade route, more than 25 floats including ones by Air-India, Western Union, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines and Friends of Gujarat, three marching bands, and hundreds of marchers, parade organizers and police agreed that it was biggest in its history. The crowd figures was estimated variously by the Chandrakant Patel, president of the Indian Business Association that organized the parade as somewhere near 40,000 and other veteran parade watchers, as somewhere around 20,000. But the crowd did not just consist of Indian Americans although they were indeed were the overwhelming majority.

Well, given the heat was scorching and the crowd overwhelming and Mallika used to being revealed in a dress rather than being covered, we hope it was not too uncomfortable for the ‘Hisss’ star!!
