Here’s a peek at the winners’ list of 5th Apsara Awards







The 5th Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards that unfolded yesterday, was of a grand affair - with the presence of glittering hi-profiled celebrities of the screen town. Bachchans, Khans, Kapoors and many other big names had descended the arena to sparkle the event. It was quite refreshing to see Preity Zinta and Arjun Rampal together, who acted as the hosts for the event.


The evening was lighted up with some fabulous performances by few Bollywood hotties like Shahrukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Arshad Warsi and Vivek Oberoi. Most importantly, the event honoured the industry’s noted personalities for their remarkable contribution to cinema. Among the jury were Ravi Chopra, Ketan Desai and Sajid Nadiadwala who had chosen the winners. Here’s a peek at the winners’ list:



Amitabh Bachchan - Lifetime Achievement award


Shah Rukh Khan - Best Actor (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi)


Priyanka Chopra - Best Actress (Kaminey)


Rishi Kapoor - Best Actor in Supporting Role (Love Aaj Kal)


Kirron Kher - Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Kurbaan)


A.R. Murugadoss - Best Director and Best Screenplay (Ghajini)


Ayan Mukherjee - Outstanding Debutant Director (Wake up Sid)


Shreya Ghoshal - Best Singer Female (Tujh mein rab dikhta hai - Rab Ne Bana...)


Mohit Chauhan - Best Male Singer (Yeh dooriyan - Love Aaj Kal)


Imtiaz Ali - Best Story (Love Aaj Kal)


Pritam Chakraborty - Best Music (Love Aaj Kal)


Jaideep Sahni - Best Lyrics (Rab Ne Bana Di…)


Anurag Kashyap - Best Dialogue (Dev.D)


Ajay Devgn - Best Performance in Comic Role (All The Best)


Amol Gupte - Best Actor in Negative Role (Kaminey)


Ghajini - Best Film


Shiamak Davar - Best Choreography (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi)


Tassaduq Hussain - Best Cinematography (Kaminey)


Sabu Cyril - Best Art Director (Aladin)


Besides these, the Chevrolet Heartbeat of the Nation Award was bagged by Shahid Kapoor for ‘Kaminey’ and Deepika Padukone for Love Aaj Kal.


Abhishek Bachchan had won the Guinness World Record for the Most Public Appearances to Promote a Film. The actor had travelled to 7 cities in 12 hrs to promote ‘Delhi-6’.
